Taking to Twitter after “The View” aired, the star apologized for what she said. “On Today’s show, I said the Holocaust ‘is not about race, but about man’s inhumanity to man.’ I should have said it is about both,” Goldberg wrote (via New York Post). She added, “As Jonathan Greenblatt from the Anti-Defamation League shared, ‘The Holocaust was about the Nazi’s systematic annihilation of the Jewish people — who they deemed to be an inferior race.’ I stand corrected.”
Goldberg finished her mea culpa by saying, “The Jewish people around the world have always had my support and that will never waiver [sic]. I’m sorry for the hurt I have caused.” Many responses showed support for the host, but her words of atonement were not good enough for everyone, with StopAntisemitism.org tweeting, “No you don’t get any easy out on Twitter. Millions of viewers witnessed your Holocaust revisionism today. Please apologize and correct this horrific distortion tomorrow ON AIR. In addition bring actual Holocaust survivors to speak in order to make this a truly teachable moment.”

“If you’re going to do this, then let’s be truthful about it because the Holocaust isn’t about race,” the longtime ABC fixture said, adding the Holocaust was actually about “man’s inhumanity to man” and said it was “two White groups of people” (via CNN).
Fallout from her remarks was swift, with viewers taking to Twitter to express outrage and disappointment. Many social media users even demanded that Goldberg lose her job. “You all remember when ABC fired Roseanne Barr because of a tweet. So, what is ABC going to do about Whoopi Goldberg and her rhetoric?” one person asked.
Many celebrities also weighed in on the upsetting statements, with Piers Morgan tweeting, “What Whoopi Goldberg said was far worse than anything Joe Rogan said – will celebrities be boycotting The View or do woke stars get a pass?”
